Lordswood Dancentre is a dance school based in Lordswood, Chatham, Kent. LDC has been running for over 40 years and was founded in 1980. The Principal, Nicola, was a member of LDC since 1989 and carefully took over the dance school from our Founder Miss Frances. We are proud of winning Bronze in the 2021 Dance School of the Year and Miss Nicola won Kent Business Woman of the Year in 2022.

We encourage all students to attend a free trial of classes. The free trial needs to be booked via our website https://lordswooddc.co.uk/free-trial-booking Once you have attended the trial we send registration documents and once signed, you are a full member of LDC.
Yes there is. Our ballet/Tap/Acro students wear leotards (colour dependant on class), with tights or socks, ballet skirts are optional and for warming up a LDC logo’d top can be worn.
For our Modern and Street the students wear LDC named t shirts with black bottoms

Yes, every 2-3 years we prepare for a ‘big’ show in the Theatre with full costumes.This is an event which everyone enjoys. We prepare for a Christmas or Summer showcase's, on non big show years. Throughout the year we attend theatres and dance with other dance schools, we perform at local school summer fayre's. We have been asked to dance with the University of Kent Christmas production and the UDance South East Community Showcase. We try and spread the performance opportunities out between of the classes and age groups
No, we do not attend competitions. We are a performance and examination based studio, however we do give students opportunities to perform alongside other dance schools and studios as often as possible.
Our students work towards bbodance (https://bbo.dance) exams in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Street & Acro.
Miss Nicola is a qulified Level 6 bbo teacher, and certified Acrobatic Arts teacher Miss Holly is an IDTA qualified teacher.
We follow the Medway council term dates, Starting in September for Term 1 and finish in July for Term 6. We may ask students to attend classes during the half term if we need extra lessons for exams or rehearsals but we will advise in advance. During the holidays we offer workshops and new experiences for the students. During Summer we offer a programme of summer classes
Payment is required for every class attended. Payment is also required for any classes missed during the term. We will invoice you every term with the total invoice and this needs to be paid by the end of the term. You can pay by cash or card directly at the studio, via bank transfer or can create a Direct Debit to be debited from your account on your preferred date.
Our class prices are based on the length of the class time. These prices may vary but are generally
a 30 min class is £5.70
a 45 min class is £6.95
a 60min class is £8.20
There are discounts available for multiple genres taken
Our class groups are named after flowers allowing parents to understand which group their child is in. This becomes very valuable during shows.

Daffodils - Years 3-4
Roses - Years 5-6
Tulips - Years 7-8
Lilys - Years 9-10
Sunflowers - Year 11+
There can be some leeway in these age groups depending on exams taken and maturity of the student.
