FAQ's

Who are Lordswood Dancentre? 

Lordswood Dancentre is a dance school based in Lordswood, Chatham, Kent. LDC has been running for over 40 years and was founded in 1980. The Principal, Nicola, was a member of LDC since 1989 and carefully took over the dance school from our Founder Miss Frances. We are proud of winning Bronze in the 2021 Dance School of the Year  and Nicola won Kent Business  Woman of the Year in 2022.

Where are the studios based? 

Lordswood Dancentre have their own purpose built studios in the heart of Lordswood. We are opposite the Library and doctors surgery. The address is Lordswood Dancentre 10-12 Kestrel Road Lordswood Kent ME5 8TH  There is free parking in all the car parks close by. the 166 bus stops at the Tesco express which is less than a 2 minute walk from the studio.

How do we become students? 

We encourage all students to attend a free trial of classes. The free trial needs to be booked via our website https://lordswooddc.co.uk/free-trial-booking Once you have attended the trial we send registration documents and once signed you are a full member of LDC.  

Is there a set uniform? 

Yes there is. Our ballet/Tap/Acro students wear leotards (colour dependant on class), with tights or socks, ballet skirts are optional and for warming up a LDC logo’d top can be worn. For our Modern, Street, Cheer the students wear LDC named t shirts with black bottoms All uniform can be brought through LDC direct via our online ordering form.  

What do we wear for the free trial? 

Come comfortable and the ability to move in your clothes, Leggings, T Shirt, Jumper/Hoodie, Trainers for street.  Be prepared for Bare foot for Acro

Does LDC do shows? 

Yes, every 2-3 years we prepare for a ‘big’ show in the Theatre with full costumes. This is an event which everyone enjoys. We prepare for a showcase each year, and as many Summer performances as possible.   

Which dance syllabus do you follow? Our students work towards bbodance exams in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Acro & Street.
